In 2018, we expanded our Burbank location, greatly increasing the space available for both gear and prep areas.

Quickly outgrowing our old shop, we transitioned into our current state of the art facility, a 100,000-square foot warehouse in Burbank.

Where It All
Started
Matt Shimamoto and Harrison Lippman, Co-Founders and Operators of Volt Lites, Inc., bring diverse backgrounds to their production lighting solutions company.
Matt, born and raised in Fresno, California, and Harrison, from Burbank, first met while studying theatrical lighting design at CalArts in Valencia, CA. After graduation, they entered the live entertainment industry, servicing prominent lighting producers and designers worldwide across various sectors, including live entertainment, concert touring, industrial/trade shows, live television, and house of worship projects and four years later, they reconnected to explore growth opportunities beyond existing limitations, leading to the inception of VOLT.
Their shared vision of better serving their clients drove them to establish an organization focused on quality products and support, addressing the industry's perceived lack of quality. Over the past 16 years, VOLT has grown from operating out of Matt's garage in Valencia to a modest shop nearby, and then to a significant move to Burbank in 2015. This pivotal moment marked their shift from fieldwork to business development. Matt and Harrison continue to drive VOLT forward with unwavering dedication, offering unparalleled quality and service. Their goal is to sustain growth and meet the increasing demand in the industry over the next decade.
